What is recorded here

Irish castle at Whitemill South, County Wexford, recorded in a Down Survey map from 1655 to 1656. It may have been a residence, a watchpost or a boundary marker, but no surviving description explains its shape or purpose. The castle has vanished from memory, leaving only a line on an old map and a gap where its stones should stand.
A castle at Whietmill is marked on a Down Survey map of St. Peter’s parish (1655-6) (NLI, ms 715, V, 1; microfilm P7384, N6380). There are no other references to such a castle, and the exact location of this monument is unknown.
