Castle, unclassified in Sreelane, stands on the Shannon bank in County Limerick. A turreted peel tower marked local maps in 1688, while earlier writings called it broken in 1655. Its exact spot has slipped from view, leaving only the river, the name and the shadow of a lost stone guard.

Shreelane or Dromroe Castle described by Westropp (1906-7, 86) as following; 'Edm. Bourke f. Ric. confirmed in Shrylane C[astle]. (Pat. R,), 1655 Sryelane and Dromruo with a broken C[astle], held by T. Arthur (D.S.A, 4, exp. C.S. xxix., 10 B.D., 104). 1688 C[astle], shown as a turreted peel tower in u Shrillane," on the Shannon bank (Trustees' Map, 22)'. The precise location of this castle has not been identified within the townland of Sreelane.
