What is recorded here
Castle in Piercetown vanished before modern memory, leaving only a survey marker near the present house. It may have been a tower, a courtyard or a boundary claim, but the earth kept that secret. What remains is a gap shaped like a building, inviting imagination to fill the stones.
Recorded on the Down Survey (1655-6) in the vicinity of the present Piercetown House. The monument has not been located.
