What is recorded here
Moydow Hill keeps a castle only in memory, hiding the precise stone behind pasture and a missing map mark. The slope faces southeast, inviting imagination to fill the vacancy left by absence.
Towards the top of a SE-facing slope of Moydow Hill. There is a local tradition of the site of a castle, but no feature is visible at ground level in pasture and its precise location is not known. No castle or building is marked at Moydoe on the Strafford map of c. 1636 (Simington 1949, Athlone (419)).
