Castle, unclassified in Liscoyle, appears in a 1574 Galway list under the name Lyscwyle, held by John Burk the B. sonne. The place likely belongs near the Leitrim boundary, though no marker remains. A castle without a shadow on modern maps may still cast one in memory.

In the list of castles in Galway, compiled in 1574, is one at 'Lyscwyle', in the barony of Leitrim, then in the possession of 'John Burk the B. sonne' (Nolan 1901, 111). This is probably a variation of the townland name 'Liscoyle', which although in the barony of Longford, lies close to the boundary with the barony of Leitrim. Not located.
