Castle, unclassified in Graigue Little,newtown (knockgraffon Par.),graigue (knockgraffon Par.) stands unmarked across three townlands, refusing the certainty other ruins give. Morrish Kent held the land by descent before the Lord of Ormond took it in mortgage, and the castle broke long before the survey came to judge what remained. It may still hide beneath grass or road metal, waiting for someone to stop asking permission and begin looking.

According to the Civil Survey (1654-6) in 1640 the lands of 'Graigue Kent' were owned by 'Morrish Kent pprietor by descent from his Ancestors, & mortgaged to the Lord of Ormond long before the Rebellion … There is on ye sd lands an old broken castle' (Simington 1931, vol. 1, 234). Graigue Kent has been identified with the modern townlands of Graigu, Graigue Little and Newtown. The castle is unlocated within these three townlands.
