Ruined castle at Fardystown, County Wexford. Robert Rossiter held 171 acres there in 1641, and local tradition credits the Rossiters of Rathmacknee with building it. The precise location has been lost, leaving only a map mark and a warning that the ground kept more than it showed.

A castle is indicated on the Down Survey parish map of Kildavin at Fardystown (1655-8) in the National Library of Ireland (ms 725, microfilm P 7384, N 6380), and the terrier, or commentary, describes a ‘waste ruined castle at Fardestowne’. According to the book of Survey and Distribution Robert Rossiter owned 171 acres at Fardystown in 1641 (Simington 1953, 301), and traditionally it is thought to have been built by the Rossiters of Rathmacknee (WX042-029002-) (Jeffrey 1979, 18).
