What is recorded here
Dromlohan castle appeared in the Desmond Roll of 1583, but no exact mark remains for it now. Prospect Hill is the usual guess, yet the name alone still carries the weight of a building that somebody stood beneath. The loss is not emptiness. It is a room whose door has been forgotten, waiting for someone to stop pretending the wall is solid.
Castle in 'Dromeloghane' mentioned in Desmond Roll of 1583 (Westropp 1906-7, 156). Exact location not known, though Westropp thinks it 'probably on Prospect Hill'.
