Castle, unclassified in Drinnanstown North marks a lost castle on the Down Survey and later County Kildare maps, not a living building or clear castle remains. Taylor's map points north of Drinnanstown House at the foot of a steep tillage slope, while the buildings in that area have been levelled. The name still belongs to the place, but the castle itself has withdrawn into soil, shadow and forgotten use.

Marked on the Down Survey (1655-6) and subsequently on Noble and Keenan's (1752), and Taylor's (1783) maps of County Kildare. The location shown on the latter map suggests the castle stood immediately N of 'Drinnanstown House' which stands at the NW foot of a very steep, tillage slope. The house is a small, heavily rendered, two-storied, three-bay structure of probable 19th century date. Buildings immediately to the N, shown on both eds. of the OS 6-inch maps, and the possible location of the castle, have been levelled and no visible surface trace of the castle was found.
