What is recorded here
Jobson's map of 1590 captured a castellated building with a side wing in Court townland, yet even Westropp could not pin its exact coordinates. The castle vanished before human memory could hold it steady, leaving behind a shape drawn in ink rather than stone. Perhaps it stood where a field still breaks the eye, or perhaps it never resisted the rain at all.
Jobson's map of 1590 shows 'a castellated building, with a side wing' which Westropp (1906-7, 239) locates in Court townland, but its exact location is not known.
