Coornishal in County Cork may have worn a castle, yet no wall, room or yard has reappeared to prove it. A 17th-century grant names the building, then silence takes over. The land may still hide a basement, a collapsed tower or a forgotten entrance beneath grass and roots. People can walk past Coornishal and never know they are leaving a castle behind.
