Scottish baronial towers rose above a walled bawn when Sir Claude Hamilton built the castle during the post-Plantation period. The stones have vanished without a trace, erasing the precise location and leaving behind a ghostly gap in the Cavan landscape. What remains is a forgotten chamber where human life moved through doors that no longer exist.

A turreted house and bawn, possibly in Scottish baronial style, was supposedly built here in the post-Plantation period by Sir Claude Hamilton. No visible remains at ground level.The precise location of this feature is not known. Sir Claude Hamilton is believed to have built a turreted house and bawn, possibly in Scottish baronial style, at this site in the post-Plantation period. The structure is remembered for its association with the Hamilton family, a prominent Scottish noble lineage active in Ireland during the 17th century.
