Castle, unclassified in Baronstown Demesne stands beside Kilbixy graveyard in County Westmeath, Ireland. John O’Donovan visited in 1837 and found no wall remains, only a moat with one circular fosse, a leper-house ruin, gallows site and the holy well of St. Bigseach near the church. A 1540 priory list called Kylbysky home to a ruinous castle and forty arable acres, suggesting the castle belonged to Tristernagh Priory before decay took it.

In 1837 John O’Donovan visited Kilbixy where he found the following; ‘1. The Leper-house (WM011-040001-), a mere ruin; 2. The site of the castle (WM011-040006-), but no remains whatever of its walls; 3. A moat (WM011-039----), surrounded by one circular fosse; 4. Site of the gallows. A holy well (WM011-038----) near the church called the well of St. Bigseach’ (Cogan 1870, 577). The precise location of this castle site in the vicinity of Kilbixy graveyard (WM011-040005-) has not been identified. This castle may be the same building mentioned n the Extent of the priory lands made at Tristernagh Priory (WM011-053----) on the 8th of October 1540 which listed the following possessions; 'Within the site of the priory or manor; Kylbysky (Kilbixy), A ruinous castle (WM011-039----) and 40 acres arable (White 1943, 276).
