Castle, unclassified in Ballynalacken, County Kilkenny, Ireland. Cushlawn O’Meeachawn, the castle of the O’Meehans, stood on Ballinalacken hill east of Cromwell’s road. Only a heap of stones remains on a wild, wind-swept ridge where the good people may still gather. The O’Meehans lost their walls to time, but the ridge kept their shape in stone and storm.

According to Carrigan (1905, vol. 2, 105), 'Cushlawn O’Meeachawn or the castle of the O’Meehans, stood on Ballinalacken hill, to the east of Cromwell’s road. Only a heap of stones marks the site. The place is believed to be a favourite resort of the “good people.” That it is wild, desolate and fiercely wind-swept there can be no question’. The precise location of this castle is unknown. The castle at Ballynalacken was associated with the O'Meehan family and is believed to have stood on a strategic hilltop before being reduced to ruins. It is remembered as a historic Gaelic stronghold, reflecting the presence and influence of local Irish families in the pre-Norman and medieval periods.
