Castle

Castle, unclassified

What is recorded here

Castle in Ballymorrisheen appeared in 16th and 17th century documents before disappearing from the visible land. It may have stood behind a hedge, fallen into a field or never been more than a boundary marker people remembered as a castle. The missing site does not weaken the story; it sharpens it. A castle can be small, old and ordinary, yet still powerful enough to leave a mark in records and vanish from the ground.
