What is recorded here
Ardgoulbeg Castle vanished before it was ever built, leaving behind only a name and a blank space in County Limerick. The missing walls may be a gift, forcing the mind to invent a shape worthy of the absence. What is lost can be imagined without limit, unshackled from the cage of fact.
Exact location of Ardgowlabegg Castle, mentioned in a 16th century document (Westropp 1906-7, 209) is not known.
