What is recorded here
Castle is a tower house inside Eyrecourt Demesne in County Galway. It stands among the grounds of a larger estate rather than at a crowded town edge. The distinction matters because small western towers often served nearby halls, farms and family power. They were watches, strongrooms and status markers written in stone.
