What is recorded here

Castle (Site of), Teeveeny is a lost castle in County Cork, Ireland, buried beneath tillage on a NW-facing slope. No wall, ditch or stone still marks the place, and even the Down Survey (1655-6) barony map left it unnamed. What remained was a shape of land, a slope and a castle name waiting to be remembered.
In tillage, on NW-facing slope. No visible surface trace of castle. Not depicted on Down Survey (1655-6) (1655-6) barony map. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
