Tearmann Caithreach stands as a lost castle site in County Mayo, its stones swallowed by time and story. The name suggests a fortress built to resist or contain, perhaps guarding a coast road or a family pride. What remains is absence made visible: a place where walls once broke the wind and people lived under the threat of siege.
