What is recorded here
Castle, motte in Togher (kilmaine By.) is a lost castle hill, not a missing fact. Some Clandonnell Gallowglass settled near Togher in 1586, and the motte may still hold the shape of that military household: a raised place for watchfire, judgment and resistance.
Some Clandonnell Gallowglass settled here in 1586 (Knox 1908, 285). Exact location not known.
