Castle, motte in Ballycahill (kilmore Par., North Riding) stands on high ground above the upland, its flat-topped mound still carrying the remains of a castle built upon it. The structure rose where the land already commanded a broad view, suggesting people valued watchfulness, authority or simply a fine vantage point. Whatever room once stood there has thinned back into grass and memory, leaving a circular ridge that still refuses to be ordinary.

Situated on high ground in an upland area with extensive views. A circular flat-topped mound (H 2.3m; diam. 18m) with the remains of a castle (TN020-084001-) which was built on top of the mound.
