Creggarve castle vanished into reclaimed Mayo pasture, leaving only faint undulations where a square bawn once stood. It may have been a quiet residence, a brutal fortress or a forgotten boundary marker. The grass has eaten the answer, but the shape remains beneath the soil, waiting for someone stubborn enough to dig.
In reclaimed pasture. Shown on OS map (1931) as castle situated in SW corner of square bawn (MA100-129002-). No trace, apart from some slight undulations above ground level.
