Castle in Aghadoe vanished into nearby walls, but its stones still stand in other shapes. The De Capel or Supple family built it above the Glenbower valley, then people broke it open and carried the pieces elsewhere. A sheela-na-gig lies nearby, perhaps cast out or forgotten when the castle stopped being a castle. What is missing has not disappeared; it has changed its job.

In elevated position overlooking valley of Glenbower river to W and S; in vicinity of Aghadoe House (CO066-03803-). No visible surface trace though stones from castle may be incorporated into nearby buildings. Sheela-na-gig (CO066-03802-) lying nearby probably from castle; built by the De Capel or Supple family (Healy 1988, 90).
