Castle Hill, Banff holds a medieval coin hoard buried beneath Aberdeenshire soil. The coins vanished before written memory, perhaps dropped in fear or hidden for later recovery. Their absence still shapes the hill, waiting for a shovel or storm to reveal what human hands once lost.
