Attached four-bay two-storey house, built c.1820. Pitched corrugated-iron roof with rendered chimneystack and cast-iron rainwater goods. Rendered walls. Square-headed window openings with render sills, having one-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows to ground floor, timber casement window to eastern bay and replacement timber-framed windows to first floor. Square-headed door openings with glazed timber door with overlight. Set back from street within yard.

Simplicity and an informally arranged facade, with its off centre door and variety of window sizes, are typical features of the vernacular tradition, as is the corrugated-iron roof. Vernacular buildings are increasingly rare throughout Ireland, and are particularly unusual in urban area. Set adjacent to the remains of Macroom Castle, it may incorporate archaeological fabric, in both former house and arched entrance.
