What is recorded here

Little Bray held a tower house so complete it stopped being a castle and became a road. Wheels have long since broken through its floors, grinding stone into dust and carrying people past the place where walls once stood. What remains is a lane in County Wicklow, smooth under tyres and silent about the hands that first shaped it.
'Castle' indicated on the First ed. OS 6-inch map. No visible trace survives and the site now forms part of the road. (Scott 1913, 162-4) Compiled by: Claire Breen Date of upload: 29 January 2013

This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed. The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
