Carns in County Kerry is a rough stone circle once misread as Cuchullin's grave, but more likely a sheep shelter or humble hut. The false name still flies like a banner over the rocks, dragging a dead hero into a place that may have housed only wool and weather.

Cuchullin's Bed and Grave/Leaba agus Uaigh Chúchulainn: Though the features at this site have previously been interpreted as graves and cairns (OSM; Borlase 1897, 2; Killanin and Duignan 1962, 44), the present remains constitute a number of roughly-built enclosures and shelters, probably for sheep. Amongst these is a circular foundation, 3m in diameter and up to 1m high, which may have been a hut site. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne.
