Carn

Close to the summit of a ridge, c. 200m SE of another tumulus (GA029-135----). It consisted of a low circular mound (D c. 8m, He. 1m) when excavated in 1935 (Riley 1936). This revealed that it was constructed by adding extra soil to a natural knoll. Four extended inhumations, placed in shallow unlined trenches, were found. Associated finds included several corroded iron fragments, one possible shield boss and animal bones. No visible surface trace survives.
