Carberry Tower

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Carberry Tower as Country House (17th Century) - (19th Century), Tower House (16th Century). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Carberry Tower was built in the 16th century as a tower house and later expanded into a country house in the 17th century; it is associated with the influential Leslie family of that era. The site is historically important as the location where Mary, Queen of Scots, was imprisoned in 1567 before her forced abdication.
