What is recorded here

Capel Island holds an abandoned lighthouse built in 1846, its rubble walls still standing despite never receiving a lamp. The unfinished tower rises from County Cork like a forgotten promise, outshone by later lights at Ballycotton and Mine Head. Its empty chamber still faces the sea, watching waters that no longer need its guidance.
Access to the island is only by written permission from Birdwatch Ireland, the area is a Nature Reserve
Capel Island, located in Strangford Lough, County Down, Northern Ireland, is a significant seabird breeding site managed as a nature reserve. It is notable for its large populations of puffins, guillemots, and razorbills, and has been protected for conservation since the early 20th century.
