What is recorded here
Castlehill and Flemingsland still hold a 19th-century Campbeltown tenement, though much of the busy harbour town has been rebuilt or lost. The stones may have marked rooms, stairs and street life rather than a grand building. People may have worked, argued, loved and forgotten inside them, while the port swallowed older names.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Campbeltown, Castlehill, Flemingsland as Tenement (19th Century). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
