Callanish stone circle dates to the late Neolithic or early Bronze Age, around 2900–1300 BCE, and is one of the best-preserved stone circles in Scotland, possibly aligned with astronomical events. It may have functioned as a ceremonial or ritual site, reflecting the spiritual or calendrical practices of its builders.
