Caldragh Fort is a children's burial ground hidden inside a cashel in County Mayo. Dense overgrowth still chokes the interior, but a square patch in the south-west holds upright stones that may have marked small graves. The fort name itself admits the truth: this was never a warrior stronghold, only a quiet place where a community laid its youngest to rest.

In a cashel (MA082-011----). The traditional name of the cashel, ‘Caltragh Fort,’ suggests that the cashel was used as a burial ground. The interior is strewn with stone through-out and is covered in dense overgrowth, making examination difficult. However, in the SW quadrant, there is a roughly square area (6.5m N–S; c. 8m E-W) distinguished by a greater concentration of stones, mostly small to medium-sized, barely protruding from ground, with some clearly set upright, possibly marking graves.
