Nine metres of angular stone lie flat in a Mayo pasture, waiting for hands that never came back to finish the shape. Local tradition names the field Leaba Dearg and claims a giant sleeps beneath the mud and marble. The story admits its own gap: it forgets to say where the castle stood.

In pasture, located on a low rise in a lowlying area overlooked to SW and NE by higher ground. Oval flat-topped stony mound (9m E-W; 6.6m N-S; H 1m at E, 1.4m at W) with broadly slumped sides. It is partly sod-covered around the base where a number of large stones and boulders protrude at SW and E. The top of the mound consists predominately of small stones, possibly field clearance. According to local tradition, the field in which the cairn is located is known as 'Labbaderrig' or 'Leaba Dearg' and it is said to be the burial site of a giant who lived in a castle.
