Cairn: a 19 m flat-topped Neolithic barrow in Skeagh, County Cork, built around 3000 BC and still standing beside a smaller ring barrow. Tradition links such places to midwinter festivals, when darkness reached its edge and people marked the return of light. Walk to it at dusk, sit with the stones until the sky changes, and ask what the Cairn remembers before deciding what it means.

In pasture on S-facing slope with commanding view to S and W. Oval flat-topped cairn (L 13.7m; Wth 8m; H 1.5m); heavily overgrown.
