What is recorded here

The quarry cut through the eastern bank, exposing fresh stone and destroying part of the circle. The cairn still stands at the col, surrounded by its berm and the remaining western trace. A hut site lies eighteen metres south, suggesting people lived beside this marked place before the machines arrived.

At the top of a gentle col with land rising slightly to the E and W, a modern road to the E, and a quarry just to the N. In pasture within a multiperiod field system (CL009-032001-). Identified by Tom Coffey (1989). This circular grass-covered stony cairn (6.8m NW-SE; 6.3m NE-SW; H 0.3-0.8m) has quite a flat top (3.8m NE-SW; 3m NW-SE). The cairn is surrounded by a berm (Wth 1.7-2.9m). Outside this are interrupted traces of a bank (15.4m NW-SE; Wth 1.6-2.4m; int. H 0.2-0.4m; ext. H 0.3m) which is largely missing at S-W, and at N-E may have been cut by the quarry. A hut site (CL009-137002-) lies c. 18m to the S.
