What is recorded here

Cairn is a small prominent grass-covered mound with steep sides, measuring 8.4m NE-SW and 7m NW-SE on a low rocky knoll in County Clare. It sits within an extensive multiperiod field system and offers commanding views from SW to NNE. Tom Coffey noted the site in 1994, while later inspection in 1998 confirmed its shape and extent. The mound may have marked burial, boundary or memory, but its unclassified status leaves that purpose unfinished.

On a low knoll in an area of elevated rocky grazing with commanding views from SW to NNE and within an extensive multiperiod field system (CL005-104001-). Noted by Tom Coffey in 1994 (SMR file). Listed as ‘Burial mound’ in the RMP (1996). On inspection in 1998 this was found to be a small prominent grass-covered cairn (8.4m NE-SW; 7m NW-SE; H 0.7-0.9m) with steep sides.
