Eight cairns stand scattered across the southern foothills of Miskish Mountain, waiting for human eyes to notice their pattern. One sits half-buried in cutaway bog, its stones exposed only because people took turf from the ground above it. The others hide beneath uncut moss or stand in adjacent fields, forming a cluster that defies easy explanation. Together they suggest a place where marking, memory or boundary mattered enough to repeat eight times across open upland.

In rough upland grazing, on blanket bog, on a S-facing slope on the S foothills of Miskish Mountain. This is one of a cluster of eight cairns (CO114-081001-; CO114-081002-; CO114-081003-; CO114-081004-; CO114-081005-; CO114-081006-; CO114-081007-). This subcircular cairn (6.7m N-S; 6.3m E-W) is partially exposed by turf-cutting and reaches a height of 1.1m above the clay at the base of the cutaway bog. Exposed stones vary in shape and size. Part of the E sector of the cairn is covered by uncut bog. One of the other cairns (CO114-081007-) in the cluster is c. 27m to the S. Two other cairns (CO115-126----; CO115-126001-) are in an adjacent field to the NE. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
