What is recorded here

Cairn is one of six granite stones on the top terrace of Dranagh mountain, almost buried in peat and waiting for someone to remember why they were placed there. The mountain holds them like a fist holds marbles, steady and patient above the valley. They may have marked a boundary, a burial or a gift to the weather, but the peat has swallowed the answer and leaves only shape behind.

On the top terrace of the Dranagh mountain, a small low circular cairn (diam. c. 2m; H c. 0.45m) of granite stones almost completely covered in peat. Recorded by Ó Murchú (2011, 67) as part of a Master's thesis (Survey number: C06).
