What is recorded here

Cairn is a prominent stone mound in County Clare, Ireland, measuring twelve metres east-west and nine metres north-south. It sits on rough pasture beside another cairn and a cashel, forming a small cluster of ancient markers. The stones may have guided herds, marked territory or honoured the dead, yet no written account survives to confirm which purpose they served.

On a raised area of rough pasture and hazel scrub, within a multiperiod field system (CL005-115001). A prominent stone cairn (12m E-W; 9m N-S; H 1.4m) with a possible fosse (Wth 3m) marked by a band of differentiated vegetation from W to N. Another cairn lies c. 8m to the SSE (CL005-115012-) and a cashel (CL005-115010-) is located c. 30m to the N.
