What is recorded here

Part of a complex of prehistoric sites on the lower western slopes of Lugnagun (WI005-079----, WI005-084----, WI005-083----, WI005-110---- to WI005-111----). Circular kerbed cairn (diam. 21m) with traces of internal structures in the form of cists or compartments, defined by upright slabs. Some of the kerbs at the N and E have been displaced and the cairn has been robbed in modern times to provide field wall material. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 December 2008 This monument is subject to a preservation order made under the National Monuments Acts 1930 to 2014 (PO no. 1/2005).
Circular kerbed cairn, likely dating to the Neolithic or early Bronze Age. Its location within a cluster of prehistoric sites suggests a broader ritual or funerary landscape of regional significance.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
