Caherlissagunna

On a gentle rise in farmland. Shown on the 1838 edition of the OS 6-inch map as a large roughly oval enclosure (c. 53m NE-SW; c. 31m NW-SE). Classified by McCaffrey (1952, 184, no. 83) as a circular ‘Stone fort’ (overall diam. c. 23m), the wall of which was ‘ruined to the foundation’. The monument is almost completely destroyed and all that survives is a section of a double-faced wall at S. There is a Man-made underground passage (GA103-047001-) in the N sector of the interior.
