What is recorded here

Caheracullin is a ruined fairy fort on a Galway rise, its circular wall collapsed under later field stones. It still holds a hidden underground passage, though the entrance has vanished beneath scrub and time. The fort may have been a human home before becoming a fairy legend, but the ground no longer gives up that much. What remains is a broken ring and a suggestion of depth, waiting for someone brave enough to look inside.

On a rise in rocky scrubland. Poorly preserved circular cashel (diam. 32m) defined by a collapsed drystone wall overlain by a later field wall. A field wall cuts across the monument from E to W. There is a Man-made underground passage (GA095-017001-) in the interior (Holt 1912, 226, no. 41).
