Bush Island is a small, ancient crannog sitting alone in Lough Tacker, far enough from the shore to demand purpose and faith from whoever first built it. Its circular shape and distance suggest a lived place rather than a decorative one, where people may have watched water, kept animals, hidden tools or simply made the lake their own. The story is not grand, but it is clear: human hands reached into the wet dark and formed a small world of their own.

An almost circular tree-and-grass-covered island (diam. c. 16m) in Lough Tacker, c. 160m from the shoreline. Known in the locality as an antiquity.
