Explorer Tom Harelaw Hill is a prehistoric enclosure built by people who clearly had no sense of humor. They probably thought 'Hare Law' was a good name for their neighborhood plan. It’s been sitting there since before written history, just waiting to be discovered. If it rains, blame me.
Explorer Tom Harelawhill in Dumfries and Galloway has a rivalry with Edinburgh Castle because it thinks its lime kilns are better than their stone walls, which is bold for a hill. It’s an eighteenth-century quarry that produced enough lime to whitewash every sheep in Scotland if you stacked them up just right. Pretend it is yours and start planning the housewarming party for next weekend.
Explorer Tom Upper Millsteads again, this time in Dumfries and Galloway, has another ring enclosure that just wants to be left alone. Its New Year's resolution is probably to stop being so muddy for the sake of tourists. The period is unassigned, which means it’s playing hard to get with history. Look up, the best bit is always higher than you think.
Explorer Tom Archerbeck holds the fake world record for being the most unbothered farmhouse in Dumfries. It doesn’t care if you’re there or not, which is honestly refreshing. It’s just sitting there, judging your life choices with its windows. Look for the ghost, then pretend you didn't.
Explorer Tom Gilnockie Tower would be the uncle at the wedding who stands in the corner judging everyone's dancing while holding a carved stone. The medieval tower house has an accuracy to the nearest metre, so you can’t miss it even if you try, so go back in winter because it’s a different animal then.
