William Hackett in 1854 (1854-5, 60-1), describing, crescent-shaped 'heaps of charcoal', probably fulachta fia, mentions, 'some nearly erased heaps in a field near Bennett's-bridge'. The precise location of these burnt spreads near Bennettsbridge is unknown.
