What is recorded here

Situated at the base of an E-facing slope in undulating countryside. A burnt pit discovered during soil stripping consisting of an oval-shaped pit (dims. L 2.46m; Wth 1.5m; D 0.4m) with fire-reddened sides indicating in situ burning. The pit contained several layers of clayey silt with intermittent layers of charcoal.
