What is recorded here
Situated in a relatively low-lying position in an undulating landscape with drumlins. Archaeological testing (12E0068) in advance of an improvement of the N2 Monaghan to Emyvale road identified an isolated oval pit (dims 2m x 1m; D 0.35m) filled with a matrix of broken and burnt stone in a charcoal-rich soil. It was completely excavated under the same licence. (O’Hara 2012a, 6, 18)
