On marshy ground c. 13m to the SE of a stream. This burnt mound is defined by a well-preserved subcircular mound (diam. 12.8m; H 0.6m) composed of burnt soil and stones. Burnt mound in Rinrush is a fulacht fia, a type of prehistoric cooking or processing site, dating to the Late Neolithic or Early Bronze Age (c. 2500–800 BCE). These sites are significant for understanding early agricultural and domestic practices in Ireland.
