Burnt mound in Ratooragh

In a farmyard, on the S side of a small stream. A mound (c. 3m E-W; c. 2m N-S; H c. 0.2m) of heat-shattered stones and charcoal-enriched soil is evident. According to local information, the mound was formerly larger, measuring c. 6m E-W and c. 4m N-S. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
